JA Apartment

Descriptive memory
The project was to remodel a former porter’s apartment, of 38m2 and very little quality space, situated in a building of eight floors which was constructed during the 1970s in Lisbon, Portugal.

For the reattribution of this space we altered the distribution of its compartments in order to obtain the best light and the greatest potential use from so small an area. Although the bedroom had been located at the entrance, a pivoting panel allowed it to be transformed into a loft or enclosed as a private bedroom.

The kitchen connects with the living/dining room by virtue of its dark colour, being able to remain open but, at the same time, without imposing. Together with the sanitary installations it defines a volume which stretches the length of the apartment in which the necessary infrastructures are concentrated.
